My beginning isn’t a story that will keep you glued to the page. My hope is that as you continue to read overtime that some of what I write will be helpful. Life for me has been a journey of times of peace, and times of pain, and misery that I thought might only lead to more sufferings. But I give you my word that its also been a journey towards healing.
I was born in Natchez Mississippi in 1970 but was immediately taken to Louisiana because that’s where most of my family were from. As an infant I was in Germany with my parents because my father was located there with the military. After Germany I’m not sure what happened but by the time I was four we had moved to Deville, Louisiana a very small community in the country. It was a great place for a kid to live. My sister was born seventeen months after me then my brother four years later. My cousins were close by also so I always had someone to play with. Life there till I was about thirteen was a great life. I had the stability and care of a close family and most important I felt safe. In the future blogs you’ll understand why I’ve written that being safe was most important. I’m ending this for now with what my therapist said about my siblings and I’s early childhood. She said had we not had such a great beginning we probably wouldn’t have survived as well as we did mentally what was to come. Also it’s not a coincidence that all three of us kids when we’re feeling overwhelmed do better if we return to the woods or wooded parks. The peace of mind in the country when all we saw and felt was good and safe was our safe place and still is.
Time for bed, I will continue my story soon.
